Program Update

Our office is working closely with our community partners to monitor the impacts of COVID-19 and follow local health authority recommendations. At this time Visiting Student Electives have been cancelled. Please contact distributed.education@schulich.uwo.ca with any questions.

These electives assist students to further develop their clinical knowledge and practice their skills in clinical settings outside of the teaching centres. Students work with enthusiastic and knowledgeable preceptors who have academic appointments with the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.

Students must have completed a core rotation in the discipline for which they are applying.

All electives must be a minimum of four weeks in order to be eligible for funding assistance for travel and accommodation. Please see the Schulich Medicine & Dentistry, Undergraduate Medical Education (UME) website for more details.

Not in Ontario

If you are currently enrolled at a medical school outside of Ontario or Canada, please see our Visiting Electives Program website.
