Rural & Regional PGE Rotations

Meeting the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons training objectives, the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University offers postgraduate training opportunities through Distributed Education to Schulich residents.    These rotations provide learners with opportunities to experience learning, living and working in Southwestern Ontario. Reimbursement for travel and funding for accommodation is provided for rotations of a minimum of 4 weeks in length. Many communities have accommodation available to our residents in designated apartments or houses. It is our goal to make your experience the best possible!

Distributed Education communities provide a low teacher-learner ratio and offer a more hands-on learning experience in the following specialties:

For example, Orthopaedic Surgery, Pathology, Respirology, Plastic Surgery, Oncology, ENT, and many other specialties. Please feel free to contact us to inquire about these and/or any other speciality or sub-specialty rotations.

Family Medicine rotations are widely offered in many smaller, rural centres through the Department of Family Medicine. Distributed Education funded PGY3 rotations are available in Geriatrics, Palliative Care and Hospitalist.
