The Distributed Education program has recruited more than 850 Faculty Appointed preceptors in the network.  Faculty are practicing family doctors and specialists, who have community practices in addition to strong academic medical interests. We are very proud of the high calibre of teaching provided by our adjunct faculty.

Call for Applications: Clerkship Chair - Sarnia Clerkship Program

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, at Western University is seeking applications for 7 positions of Rotation Directors – Sarnia Clerkship Program. One (1) Rotation Director will be recruited for each core clerkship rotation: Anesthesia, Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Medicine, Ob/Gyn, Psychiatry, and Surgery. The appointment will be effective June 1, 2025. The Rotation Director will work collaboratively with their respective faculty, residents, and other stakeholders to develop and deliver the rotation teaching curriculum. The Rotation Director will need to be knowledgeable of the standards Medical Council of Canada Objectives for their department and ensure the rotation is meeting those standards. The Rotation Director is responsible for ongoing development of objectives and assessment tools. They will ensure that faculty and postgraduate trainees are aware of the objectives for the clinical rotation and the methods of assessment. They will also prepare (i.e., solicit, select, and edit) the Year 3 OSCE examination questions, at the request of the University.
The candidate for Rotation Director – Sarnia Clerkship Program is expected to have experience, knowledge and commitment to medical education in their respective clinical specialty. She/he should have a demonstrated ability to collaborate, communicate, and facilitate in complex environments.

The successful candidate must already hold an academic appointment within the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, and will require a time commitment of 0.25 days per week for an expected term of 3 years, subject to renewal on recommendation of the Assistant Dean, Distributed Education.

The applicant should forward a letter of intent, current Curriculum Vitae and the names and emails of three references to the attention of Dr. Victor Ng, Assistant Dean, Distributed Education via e-mail attachment to distributed.education@schulich.uwo.ca  no later than Saturday March 1, 2025 by 11:59 p.m.
