2025 Cason King Award
Dr. Cason King was a gifted communicator, highly intelligent mentor and charismatic collaborator who developed strong collegial relationships in his work and teaching. Cason displayed true strength and character when passionately undertaking projects and personal causes.
His exceptional level of motivation, productivity and selfconfidence were a continuous inspiration to his family, friends and colleagues; through all of his successes, he remained humble.
This award was established by Cason’s family as a tribute to their beloved son and his many achievements at Western University. It is their hope that the recipient of this award will respect and reflect the qualities of Cason they most value.
This award is granted to a doctoral student enlisted in the Microbiology & Immunology PhD program.
Eligibility will be determined based on the following criteria:
- Student must have achieved a pass on the Candidacy Milestone
- Student must still be a full-time student at the time of application for this award
