Regional Program Curriculum
Please review the PGY1 and PGY2 curricula below. Note that all rotations are subject to availability and other arrangements may be necessary if a rotation is not available. If you prefer another location other than what is listed below, please indicate it on your preferences survey; however, we cannot guarantee that a resident’s preference can be accommodated.
The Regional West Program (Mount Brydges, Strathroy) and the Regional North Program (Ilderton) take place in different locations and have different curricula.
Features of our Regional West Program (Mount Brydges, Strathroy)
- Training in urban, suburban, and rural community practices that are all within daily commutable distances from London
- Southwest Middlesex Health Centre and Strathroy FHO are ready to train you into a full-fledged rural family physician
The London Regional West Program has an integrated 2-year curriculum. There are electronic medical resources for residents, including computer and internet access, and standard medical resources in each core Family Medicine training site.

Features of our Regional North Program (Ilderton) for July 2024 PGY1 residents
The curriculum in Ilderton is designed to prepare residents for comprehensive family practice in a regional setting.
The first year aims to provide a solid experience in family medicine while also developing solid foundations in various areas of medicine and surgery. The second year builds on this by placing the resident in the family practice for a total of 6 blocks which is then complimented by rotations in pediatrics, emergency medicine and FM hospitalist as well as elective blocks to allow the resident to further refine his/her training.
