From Global to Local: Research and Academia’s Contribution to Dentistry

Abstract: The practice of dentistry in Canada and throughout the world is subject to multiple influences including academia and research, which compete for attention with patients, the media, the business of dentistry, regulatory authorities, dental associations and others. This talk will explore the contribution of dental research and academia to dental care using examples that span direct interaction of dental schools with their community and dental students as drivers of change, to national dental care issues and global oral health.

Presented By Dr. Paul Allison, Professor of Dental Public Health and Former Dean, Faculty of Dentistry, McGill University
