Frequently Asked Questions

Who do we see?

At present, our focus is on paediatric dental patients who require general anaesthesia to complete necessary dental work. In order to reduce barriers to access, our fees are generally 50-60% of the amount a private dentist would charge. We accept the Healthy Smiles Ontario program (HSO) and all forms of dental insurance.

Who performs the treatment?

All procedures are performed by a paediatric dentist from Schulich Dentistry.  Anaesthesia services are provided by a team of anaesthesiologists, registered nurses, and allied health professionals.

How can I refer a patient to the DSCU?

The DSCU sees paediatric patients on referral only from dentists, physicians, public health and community agencies. Click the link above to refer us a patient.

 Where do I park?

In the Medical Sciences/Dental Clinic parking lot, which also has handicap parking.  A map of its location is located here. This lot is staffed Monday-Friday until 5pm.  Cash payments are only available when the attendant is on duty, otherwise payment is by credit card only.  From the parking lot, the DSCU is accessed by taking the pedestrian bridge to the Dental Sciences Building Addition.
