Schulich Dentistry programs accredited

Accreditation is a standards-based process that reviews dentistry programs ensuring they possess the essential processes and meet the mandated elements consistent with quality in dental education. In Canada that process is undertaken by the Commission on Dental Accreditation of Canada (CDAC).

At the end of November, the CDAC informed the School that all of its programs are accredited. This includes the Doctor of Dental Surgery, Internationally Trained Dentists, Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, Graduate Orthondontics and the General Practice Residency programs.

In doing so, they commended the School in meeting all the requirements and recommendations that the Commission has requested. The CDAC identified some further recommendations and requested a follow-up report in 2020.

In sharing the news, Dr. Bertha Garcia thanked all the faculty, staff and students who are dedicated to ongoing quality improvement and who are committed to creating and providing an outstanding learning and patient care experience.
