Dr. D.P. (Philip) Hayman

Dr. Philip Hayman

 

1941-2012

Dr. Hayman was born in London, Ontario and graduated from medical school at the University of Western Ontario and completed residency training in Urologic Surgery in London prior to undertaking additional fellowship training in Toronto, the Bowman Gray School of Medicine in North Carolina and Stanford University. He returned to London to join the Urology faculty in 1973 where his busy surgical practice included complex urinary stone surgery and renal transplantation.

He was much loved by his patients as well as by 40 years of UWO residents who held him in very high regard for his surgical skills, his commitment to teaching, and his zest for life beyond the hospital.

Dr. Hayman was active within the Ontario Medical Association (OMA).  He served as Chair of the Section on Dialysis and Renal Transplantation, and subsequently Urology from 1988-1990.

His career interests were urologic trauma, transplantation, and urolithiasis surgery.
