The Department of Oncology's Wellness & Resiliency Task Force is committed to promoting a wide variety of Wellness activities and resources that reflect the interests of the Department.

The Wellness & Resiliency Task Force works in conjunction with London Health Science Centre's "Where Wellness Work"' Program to support and promote wellness activities for its physicians. 

Year Round Activities

LRCP Stretching Session | Tuesday's & Thursday's at 9:45 am at the Collaboration Corner (A3 whiteboard)  

The LHSC fitness program staff will lead you through a full body stretch break right in your own department. Join us for a relaxing stretch break that will leave you feeling refreshed and stress free.

Wellness Walks | Tuesday's, Thursday's & Friday's from 12:15pm - 12:45pm - Meet at the Zone E elevators, 1st floor

Joing the "Where Wellness Works Walking" program for 30 minnutes of walking. Take some time outdoors (weather permitting) to enjoy the natural beauty that surrounds us and get some exercise at the same time. We have customized our popular walking program to suite all levels of fitness. We are pleased to announce our "Easy Pace" walk which is ideal for beginners, and our "Fitness Pace" walk desinged to challenge the experienced walker.

Recent Initiatives

15 Minute Chair Massages

On Wednesday February 26th, 2020, LRCP physicians were invited to attend a free chair massage event hosted by the Wellness and Resiliency Task Force and the Westervelt Massage Therapy Students. The students received training hours towards their certification and the attendees received 15mins of stress relief. The event was well received by both the staff and the students. Special thank you to Westervelt College for donating their event fee.

Virtual Wellness Physicians Luncheons

On May 26th and June 3rd, 2020; Drs. Glenn Bauman and Maria MacDonald, LRCP's Wellness Lead, hosted an hour long virtual wellness physicians luncheon. A lunch was delivered to the physicians and they could eat and chat with their colleagues safely from their offices.

LHSC Offers Virtual Wellness classes

LHSC has been offering free on-line fitness classes through Instagram. All that is required is an Instagram account and an LHSC email address.

These classes have proven to be so successful that after the pandemic is over, LHSC will continue to offer this service. The classes are either taped or live so you can access when you have free time.

Dancing with the LRCP Clinicians & Friends

2020-2022 were very stressful years. Not only were we dealing with COVID-19 but our centre suffered a major flood and many clinics and offices were displaced for over 3 months. So, nothing left to do but dance our stress away. Check out our dance moves to Footloose and Holiday vibes
