Dr. Amit Garg, Marlys Koschinsky, PhD, Grace Parraga, PhD, Dr. Michael Rieder and Lisa Saksida, PhD, were elected as Fellows of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. The fellowship honours individuals who represent excellence in health sciences, demonstrating a strong commitment to their field of expertise through their life and work.  
 
Dr. Vladimir Hachinksi received the F.N.G. Starr Award from the Canadian Medical Association, recognizing his achievements in innovative stroke intervention and treatment.
 
Dr. Les Kalman was appointed Academic Lead, Continuing Dental Education.
 
Dr. Christie MacDonald was recognized by the Canadian Association of Emergency Physicians for her exceptional leadership during the COVID-19 pandemic.
 
Dr. Penny MacDonald was renewed as the Tier 2 Canada Research Chair in Neuroscience and Neuroimaging.
 
Michelle Mottola, PhD, was appointed Chair of the Division of Maternal, Fetal and Newborn Health at the Children’s Health Research Institute.
 
Silvia Penuela, PhD, and Matthew Teeter, PhD, were named recipients of Petro-Canada Young Innovator Awards.
 
Marco Prado, PhD, Gilles Lajoie, PhD, and Lauren Flynn, PhD, received funding from the Canada Foundation for Innovation’s John R. Evans Leaders Fund.
 
Jessica Prodger, PhD, was appointed Co-Director of the Collaborative Graduate Program in Global Health Systems at Schulich Medicine & Dentistry.
 
Lisa Saksida, PhD, was elected to the Royal Society of Canada.
 
Dr. Robbie Stein was re-appointed Assistant Dean, Undergraduate Equity and Wellbeing.
 
Dr. Ali Tassi was appointed Assistant Dean, Postgraduate Dental Education.
 
Shawn Whitehead, PhD, was awarded an Alzheimer Foundation London and Middlesex Premier Research Grant to study brain inflammation as a potential indicator of cognitive impairment. 

The School's Communications & Marketing Team received two Virtuoso Awards from the International Association of Business Communicators. An Award of Merit was received for the 2019 Achievements Report. An Award of Excellence was received in partnership with Lawson Health Research Institute for the London Health Research Day event.
