Branding

Branding 101

A brand is more than just a logo and a colour. A brand includes everything from the design, look and feel of communications and marketing pieces to the words and phrases used to describe an organization. On the whole, a brand helps identify one organization from another.

Brand awareness involves an external audience’s ability to recall and recognize a brand. To increase brand awareness, all materials produced by an organization should have a similar look, tone, feel and design.

The Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Brand

The Communications Team at Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, has worked hard to establish a cohesive, unified brand for the School. Working closely with communications colleagues at Western, various key messages, colours, fonts and logo treatments have been developed.

Materials including branded templates and brand guidelines have been established to help our faculty, staff, students and external partners easily create material that follows our brand.

Use and adherence to the brand identity is crucial to building a recognizable brand for the School, helping to create a greater public impact for Schulich Medicine & Dentistry at home and round the world.
