Biography

Dr. Tammy Symons, MD, FRCPC is an Assistant Professor in the department of Anesthesia and
Perioperative Medicine, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.

She obtained her medical degree at Western University, then joined the Anesthesiology residency program at Memorial University of Newfoundland. Following this, she returned to Western University to complete a fellowship in Obstetric Anesthesia. During her fellowship she contributed to the successful application
of Victoria Hospital for designation as a SOAP 2018 Centre of Excellence for Anesthesia Care of Obstetric Patients. She was awarded Junior Faculty Teacher of the Year in 2020. 

Dr. Symons is currently in the process of completing her Clinician Educator diploma, a Royal College Area of Focused Competency program through McMaster University.
