Biography

Dr. Poolacherla was appointed in 2014 to the Department of Anesthesia with an already extensive resume in pediatric anesthesia. Dr. Poolacherla has completed his formal education in India, both at Stanley Medical College and Madras Medical College. He received his post-graduate training in both India and in Bristol’s School of Anesthesia, Severn Deanery in the United Kingdom. He obtained his FRCA in anesthesia from the Royal College of Anesthetists in London UK and Completion of Certificate of Training (CCT) from the General Medical Council UK. He completed his fellowship in pediatric anesthesia at the world renowned Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children UK.

Before coming to London, Dr. Pooolacherla was working as a Consultant Pediatric Anesthetist at Frenchay Hospital in Bristol, gaining experience in several facets of administration and management by leading specialty groups, acting as an educational supervisor, and as a linkman for APAGBI. He has several publications already in press, many presentations given, and multiple teaching and training activities completed. Dr. Poolacherla started the first Pediatric Chronic Pain Program in the Southwest region with the help of MOHLTC. He also was instrumental in conducting the first ever Pediatric Pain Conference in the region with visiting speakers. He has a keen interest in innovation in clinical delivery, Quality initiatives, and pediatric pain.
