Dr. Morley-Forster received the prestigious 2013 Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society Gold Medal in recognition for outstanding contributions to Anesthesiology and Leadership in advancing the area of Chronic Pain Management.

Biography

Dr. Pat Morley-Forster received a BSc from Western University and M.D. from the University of Toronto. She completed her Anesthesiology residency at the University of Toronto and worked as a staff member at the University Health Network for four years.

In 1987, Dr. Morley-Forster began working at St. Joseph’s Health Care (SJHC) and held the position of Director of Obstetric Anesthesia at St. Joseph’s from 1992 to 2001.

In 2001, Dr. Morley-Forster received fellowship training in Chronic Pain Management at the Wasser Clinic of Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto. Upon returning to London, she was appointed as the inaugural Earl Russell Endowed Chair in Pain Research and Management at Western University and held this position until 2005.

Currently, Dr. Morley-Forster is Medical Director of the Outpatient Pain Management Program at SJHC and a Clinical Professor in the Department of Anesthesia and Perioperative Medicine at Western University.

Dr. Morley-Forster has also been on the Editorial Board of Canadian Journal of Anesthesia since 2009.

Dr. Morley-Forster's ongoing research includes a pilot study of 'Low Dose Oral Ketamine Adjuvant Therapy in Chronic Pain Patients' for assessment of patient safety.
