Announcement: Dr. Emil Schemitsch Elected President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA)
Congratulations to Dr. Emil Schemitsch, Chair/Chief, Department of Surgery, who was elected as the President of the Orthopaedic Trauma Association (OTA). Dr. Schemitsch began his term as President at the OTA Annual Meeting on October 19, 2023.
The OTA is an international professional membership organization with more than 3,200 orthopaedic trauma surgeons and health care providers. The mission of the OTA is to promote excellence in care for the injured patient, through scientific forums and support of musculoskeletal research and education.
As the OTA President, Dr. Schemitsch will be tasked with overseeing the complete operation of the organization. This includes presiding over the Board of Directors and OTA leadership to establish and execute short and long-term goals and overall strategic direction and promoting the Association’s mission to external and internal stakeholders.
