  • LHSC surgical fellow to become first female thoracic surgeon in Saudi Arabia

    When Dr. Manal AlNaimi left her native Saudi Arabia to train in the subspecialty of thoracic surgery at London Health Sciences Centre and the Schulich School of Medicine at Western University she knew that she would break new frontiers. She would begin a three year chapter in her life in a new country and upon completion of her training she would return home and to King Fahad Specialist Hospital in Dammam as the first female thoracic surgeon in Saudi Arabia.

  • Matthew Teeter, PhD, recognized for work in joint replacement

    Matthew Teeter, PhD, assistant professor, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry and researcher at Lawson Health Research Institute, is a winner of the 2015 John Charles Polanyi Prize. The $20,000 award recognizes the excellence of Teeter’s research in joint replacement. It was presented at a ceremony in Toronto by the Honourable Reza Moridi, Ontario’s Minister of Training, Colleges and Universities, on Tuesday, November 17.
