Schulich Dentistry Research Opportunity Program (SDROP)

Dr. Jennifer Archibald

The summer student research program provides an opportunity for students enrolled in the DDS program to contribute to clinical and basic science research being performed in Schulich Dentistry.

All interested dental students in Years 1, 2 & 3 are encouraged to apply. In addition, there are opportunities for students to apply to external agencies for summer studentships. Students who are selected are in good standing academically. To promote exposure to research, research experience is not required.

Students in the Summer Research Program are required to participate in 2 presentations over the summer to discuss their projects. Following completion of their projects, students are required to present their data at Dentistry’s Research Day in October. Awards are available, on a competitive basis, for summer students to present their research at national and international research conferences, including the annual meetings of the Canadian Dental Association, the International Association for Dental Research and the Hinman Symposium.
