Flu immunization information

Flu Shot Communication- 2015

The Medical Advisory Committee (MAC) at London Health Sciences Centre has spent considerable time deliberating on the issue of Influenza Vaccination, in light of the evidence that Influenza is a risk to many of the patients served by our organizations, and consistent with the Public Health recommendations that everyone be vaccinated, a policy requiring Professional Staff and Trainees to be vaccinated has been developed.

For the 2015 Influenza season the policy will be:

That Professional Staff, Trainees, including Senior Medical Students are expected to be vaccinated, should they choose not be vaccinated then the wearing of appropriate respiratory protection will be required.

In light of the fact that many of you are applying for Observerships and or participating in small group sessions that take place in these hospitals, it is expected that you as Medical Students will be vaccinated as well.

Please note that there are slightly different instructions for obtaining your vaccination and submitting your proof.  Please find the instructions that apply to you below.

Meds 2016 & 2017

If you are currently in a clinical setting, most hospitals have launched their seasonal vaccination programs and you are strongly encouraged to use the onsite clinics to receive your vaccination.

On receiving your vaccination you will receive a vaccination confirmation form which specifically identifies which vaccine you have received.  This is the proof we require.  Photos of documents or pharmacy receipts are not sufficient.

Please submit this form to Margaret Wegrzyn (equity.wellness@schuilch.uwo.ca) in the Learner Equity & Wellness Office (K1, Kresge) at Schulich so that your status can be tracked.
