Heart and Mind Study update

Funded by The Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada, The Heart and Mind Study aims to improve the cognitive and vascular health in hypertensive older adults with memory complaints. The interdisciplinary team from the Centre for Studies in Family Medicine (CSFM) is looking to see if there is a difference in cognitive and vascular health outcomes after six months of either moderate continuous or high-intensity interval training on stationary bicycles. All classes will be held at the YMCA.

We had a great response of over 70 interested first and second year Western University undergraduate students who are getting early exposure to research and working with an older adult participation. We are very excited to begin the first group of participants for our study on March 18.
