Graduate Program Report

The 38th year of the Graduate Program commenced with our on-site session which took place from September 14th to the 25th inclusive, with 10 graduate students attending classes in the Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine.

The current student enrollment is as follows:

  • MClSc - 35 / PhD - 5 plus 2 on LOA
  • New Students: 4 MClSc, 2 PhD
  • Graduates of the MClSc program: 94 with 2 additional students graduating in October 2015.
  • Graduates of the PhD program: 1

Awards
Martin J. Bass/PSI Memorial Award in Family Medicine

Awarded annually to part-time graduate students in the Master of Clinical Science Program offered by the Department of Family Medicine who have their Family practice Certification (or equivalent certification from another country. Two awards of $2,500 were granted this year to Drs. Britta Laslo and Reema Ray.

Upcoming Convocation
Congratulations to Drs. Saadia Hameed and George Kim on the successful completion of the MClSc Program. Their graduation will take place at the Fall Convocation in October.

New Faculty
We welcome Drs. Saadia Hameed, Shannon Sibbald and  Chris Watling, who are assuming teaching roles in two of the graduate program courses.
