Presentation: Implementing Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) Changes into Clinical Practice

Learning Objectives: 

  1. Identify the major changes and updates in the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) Fetal Heart Surveillance (FHS) Clinical Practice Guideline and how they will be implemented at London Health Sciences Centre;
  2. Describe the interdisciplinary context of FHS on the Obstetrical Care Unit (OBCU) and the importance of using standardized interpretation and language when communicating fetal status in handover as well as in consultation; and
  3. Differentiate classification of FHS examples and apply appropriate terminology to these examples while choosing the correct clinical management steps as per the 2020 SOGC Clinical Practice Guideline.
