Pediatrics

Overall Goal(s)

  1. Provide a concentrated exposure to the care of infants, children and adolescents that is supplemental to the one during family medicine clinical experiences

Background and Description

Clinical experience in pediatrics is provided through all family medicine experiences. Typically, well-child care and other common acute and chronic pediatric presentations and conditions are learned best during the pediatric experience during family medicine. Consequently, the pediatric rotation is a supplemental pediatric experience and thus a resident has a choice of this experience in the pediatric emergency room, community pediatricians’ offices, and community pediatric wards

Specific pediatric rotation descriptions can be found here.
