Palliative and End of Life Care
Overall Goal(s)
- Provide a concentrated exposure to the practice of palliative and end of life care
- Provide opportunities to gain necessary competence to incorporate palliative and end of life care into family practice upon graduation
Background and Description
Clinical experience in palliative and end of life care is provided through all core family medicine experiences (as all core teaching sites provide palliative care) and palliative care rotations.
Palliative and end of life care rotations represent an opportunity for residents to gain additional skills in palliative and end of life medicine in different settings: outpatient, inpatient, hospice and home.
