Obstetrics and Gynecology
Overall Goal(s)
- Provide a concentrated exposure to the practice of obstetrics, especially in intra-partum care
- Provide a supplemental gynecological experience, especially in the area of gynecological procedures (e.g. IUD insertions, endometrial biopsies), relevant to family medicine
Background and Description
Clinical experience in obstetrics and gynecology is provided through all family medicine experiences and this obstetrics and gynecology experience provides you with the opportunity with a higher volume exposure and in a setting where relevant procedures are more frequently done. The various sites that provide this clinical rotation provide both concentrated obstetrical and gynecological experiences, though the obstetrical component is typically the larger one.
