Geriatrics - Medicine

Overall Goal(s)

  1. Provide a concentrated exposure to the care of elderly patients that is supplemental to the one during family medicine clinical experiences

Background and Description

Clinical experience in geriatrics is provided through all family medicine experiences. A concentrated geriatric experience can often provide greater exposure to more complex geriatric patients and thus increase residents’ competence and comfort when dealing with such patients.

The range of rotations offered include inpatient (acute and chronic), ambulatory and nursing home.
