Contact person: Dr. Tatiana Jevremovic

The South London Urgent Care is located in the south end of the city, at 595 Bradley Ave.  The Urgent Care is comprised of 7 walled-off examining rooms, and 3 examining spaces divided by a curtain.

There are:

  • 2 rooms equipped to do Gynecological exams,
  • 1 ENT and eye room
  • 1 acute room – equipped with oxygen and equipment to administer a ventolin treatment, an EKG machine and AED,  IV poles and supplies for codes as well as for IV medication for cellulitis,
  • 1 room is dedicated for procedures such as I&Ds, suturing, skin biopsies…

In the open area with 3 examining spaces, there are supplies for casting and splinting.

The clinic has a PACS system that connects with the London X-ray Associate department located in the same building, down the hall from the Urgent Care.
X-rays are immediately available.

There is also a pharmacy in the building, and a lab for blood taking and other specimen processing.

The clinic can perform urine dips and Beta- HcGs, as well as rapid strep tests. Blood work can be ordered, and results are often accessible within 24 hours.

There are family doctors clinics as well as an endoscopy suite and a CBI physiotherapy clinic in the same building.

Type of patients/problems seen:

Patients of the Urgent Care come from various cultures and are of all ages (from newborn to the elderly).

Reasons for visits to the urgent care range from preventative matters (e.g. Birth control request, medication renewal, blood pressure checks, vaccinations for school or trips, normal pregnancy checks..) to acute issues (e.g. URTI, UTIs, Abdominal pains, Headaches, Trauma/fractures/MSK injuries, Genitourinary issues, chest pains, dizziness, rashes..) to chronic issues (ongoing medical or physical conditions).
Some visits are for psychological or emotional matters and others are for education/counseling purposes.

Typical daily and weekly schedule:

  • Family medicine residents would be rotating through the urgent care, Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays. Shifts last 6-9 hours, and start at 9am in the morning.
  • Wednesdays, the residents would have the opportunity to spend their morning ½ day at the Doctors Walk-in working with Dr. Ziradkar.
  • Fridays, they will again spend the day working with Dr. Jevremovic at the Fowler Kennedy clinic.

This will be a great opportunity for them to gain further training in MSK medicine while honing their family medicine training and skills at the Urgent Care.

The resident will also be expected to work 2 6-hour weekend days per rotation in the Urgent Care.

Objectives of the rotation:

  • improve on diagnosis and management of conditions without access to immediate blood work and imaging other than x-rays
  • improve on clinical skills such as: stitching, casting, splinting, I&Ds,
  • improve on physical examination and assessment of MSK conditions.
  • learn to manage multiple patients and patient flow in a urgent care setting

Physicians involved in teaching:

Dr. Ziradkar – Tuesday, Wendesday and Thursday.
Dr. Jevremovic – Monday and Friday.
