Fanshawe College is a Community college offering Degree and Diploma courses in over 100 programs with approximately 12,000 students.
The Fanshawe site of Fowler Kennedy Sport Medicine Clinic offers Student Health Services to the Students of Fanshawe as well as Sport Medicine to community and varsity athletes. It is located in the Student Union Building on the main floor. We offer comprehensive primary care health services to the students. We have 5 Physicians, 2 Physiotherapists and 2 nurses.
Although the primary focus is late adolescent and young adult medicine we also serve many mature students and international students. The Centre offers the Resident an excellent opportunity to gain experience and a different perspective on adolescent health issues. Many of the students are away from home for the first time. The most common medical problems seen in the clinic include respiratory, gastrointestinal, genitourinary, endocrine, nutrition, contraceptive, sexual health, STI’s musculoskeletal, mental health substance use/misuse/abuse, sleep disorders, dermatology and other medical and emotional problems encountered by the young adult. The clinic also has on site Sport Physiotherapy.
The Student Health Services welcomes Family Medicine Residents either PGY1 or 2.
Scheduling: Can take residents for 4 week rotations; no residents in December, January, July, and August.
