The Hospitalitst elective at the Met Campus of Windsor Regional Hospital is a one month elective for PGY 2 family medicine residents. There are a variety of cases with a significant complexity. It is a dynamic unit with a strong team based model with daily multi- disciplinary rounds. You will have the opportunity to work with a couple of supervisors one week at a time. You will be trying to build a small team of your own patients that you will manage from admission to discharge. Residents choose a topic of interest to them for a small informal presentation to the unit including a few attendings. We have a group of dedicated hospitalists that will take the time to help you identify your goals for your elective and then to try and provide an opportunity to reach them. There is home call thru the week so that you are following the course of your patients. There is no weekend call commitment.
