The Woodstock Hospital is a brand new facility as of November 2011, located approximately 30 minutes from London, just off Highway 401. Serving the city of Woodstock and surrounding Oxford County, the emergency department sees just over 35,000 visits per year. We see a wide variety of patients across the acuity and disease spectrums. The Woodstock Hospital is a family medicine run full service community hospital with specialty back up including; ENT, internal medicine, general surgery, obstetrics, anaesthesia, orthopaedic surgery, urology and ophthalmology. We are a schedule one facility for psychiatric patients. Our hospital is equipped with CT, MRI, bedside ultrasound, video-laryngoscope etc. In addition to the usual emergency department duties, we are involved in patient admission, critical care transfers and provide code blue and pink services to the hospital. We tend to do almost all of our own fracture reductions, procedures and conscious sedations. We enjoy a good relationship with our specialists and community family doctors. During the rotation we maintain a one to one staff to student ratio, to ensure a high quality educational experience.
