Transdisciplinary Understanding and Training on Research – Primary Health Care (TUTOR-PHC) 2021 Symposium

TUTOR-PHC held its annual Symposium from April 26th to April 29th, 2021. The Symposium is the start of the year-long TUTOR-PHC program. This is the 18th year of the TUTOR-PHC program – the only interdisciplinary primary health care research training program in Canada.

The Symposium was attended by 12 trainees from across Canada and 6 international trainees including  2 from England, 1 from the Netherlands, 1 from Ireland, 1 from France, and 1 from Australia. This represents the largest cohort of TUTOR-PHC trainees ever!  Twenty-two TUTOR-PHC mentors also attended the Symposium and helped to lead the workshops and training sessions, and worked to build relationships with the trainees, thereby increasing the network of primary health care researchers across Canada.

The trainees were joined by two patient partners, Ron Beleno and Lorraine Bayliss, who facilitated a day-long workshop on patient and community engagement in research.

The Symposium was a great success and we look forward to a fantastic 18th year of the TUTOR-PHC program!
