Welcome to new Lifestyle Research Team members

Welcome Katie Shillington and Cherise Parish to the Lifestyle Research Team.

Katie Shillington recently completed a Bachelor of Health Sciences with an Honours Specialization in Health Promotion and is currently pursuing a Masters degree in the field of Health Promotion under the supervision of Dr. Jennifer Irwin at Western University. During her undergrad, Katie worked as a research assistant on various projects concerning the mental health of university students, as well as women’s health. She is specifically interested in investigating kindness as a mental health promotion approach. Katie is currently working as a graduate student assistant on the Hockey FIT study, supervised by Dr. Robert Petrella and Dr. Dawn Gill, and looks forward to learning more about the study and being involved in the process evaluation phase.

Cherise Parish just finished her Undergraduate degree in Kinesiology at Western. She did a practicum with the center and Dr. Petrella during the school term and is now working part time with the Heart and Mind Study. As for after the summer, Cherise is going into the Pedorthics Diploma program at Western in the fall.
