Dean’s Award of Excellence for Staff - Innovation – Team Award
The Diabetes Research Team has been awarded the Dean’s Award of Excellence for Team Innovation for their Indigenous Quality Improvement Program, which is an accumulation of over a decade of work with Indigenous communities. The community-driven program creates space to centre Indigenous knowledge and try tests of change that can yield meaningful results to improve diabetes care in the community – an illness that has been characterized for decades as disproportionately affecting Indigenous peoples.
