Palliative Care Grand Rounds - Novel (Cryotherapy) and Not So Novel (Percutaneous Cordotomy) Procedures in the Management of Intractable Cancer Pain

Join us for Palliative Care Grand Rounds on Wednesday, February 14, 2024 to be held via Zoom Videoconferencing from 8:30-9:30 a.m.

Leandro Cardarelli Leite, MD and Dwight Moulin, MD will present, "Novel (Cryotherapy) and Not So Novel (Percutaneous Cordotomy) Procedures in the Management of Intractable Cancer Pain."

Session Learning Objectives:

  1. To appreciate the indications, potential benefits and complications of percutaneous cordotomy.
  2. Understand the role of cryoablation for pain palliation. 
  3. Become familiar with possible risks and complications of the intervention.

 

25% interaction will be included in each session.

Overall Learning Objectives for 2023-2024 Palliative Care Grand Rounds:

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Identify barriers and trends in palliative care and their impact on patient care.
  • Apply pertinent and relevant palliative medicine know ledge and guidelines to their practice.
  • Discuss the challenges of providing palliative care w ith other primary care physicians, medical trainees, and allied health professionals throughout Southw estern Ontario.
