Welcome to the Western University Department of Medical Imaging Fellowship Program!

The Medical Imaging Fellowship program at Western University provides advanced postgraduate training to qualified radiologists across several subspecialty areas. Fellowship programs are delivered within two academic hospital systems: London Health Sciences Centre (Victoria Hospital and University Hospital) and St. Joseph’s Healthcare London.

Our institutions are equipped with state-of-the-art imaging infrastructure across all modalities, enabling high-quality diagnostic and interventional imaging. Our fellowship-trained faculty are leaders in their respective fields and are actively engaged in clinical, academic, and research excellence.

By the end of their training, fellows are well prepared for independent practice and future academic or clinical careers. They are exposed to a high volume and broad spectrum of cases, develop teaching skills through supervision of residents and medical students, and strengthen their consultation expertise through collaboration with multidisciplinary teams and participation in tumour boards.

Our fellowship programs also provide excellent opportunities for research. Fellows are granted protected academic time to pursue research projects and benefit from Western University’s on-site research infrastructure, including support from scientists at the Robarts Research Institute and the Lawson Health Research Institute. Fellows are encouraged to present their work at national and international meetings and conferences.

We offer seven fellowship training programs in Abdominal Imaging, Breast Imaging, Cardiothoracic Imaging, Musculoskeletal Imaging, Neuroradiology, Nuclear Medicine, and Vascular and Interventional Imaging. Please refer to the individual program tabs for further details.
