December 2025 Newsletter

    • Chair's Message
As we move toward the close of another calendar year, December offers a (short) moment to pause, reflect, and acknowledge the efforts of our Department of Family Medicine community. There are many significant accomplishments I could highlight in my message but, instead, I want to take this opportunity to express my sincere gratitude to each of you - faculty, staff, and trainees - for the commitment, professionalism, and care you bring to your work and learning every day.

    • Postgraduate Report
As 2025 draws to a close, we extend our sincere appreciation to all faculty, staff, and residents for your exceptional contributions to the Family Medicine Residency Program. The strength and success of our program are a direct reflection of your continued commitment to teaching, learning, mentoring and ensuring the smooth academic and administrative operation of the program.  Your dedication is valued, and we are truly grateful for all that you do.

    • Research Report
On December 10 Dr. Maria Mathews presented her work in the area of co-management of patients with chronic illnesses. The Centre for Studies in Family Medicine (CSFM) Brown Bag Seminar series continues with presentations scheduled in 2026. The Brown Bag Seminar series is held virtually the second Wednesday of the month from noon to 1pm and features research happening at the CSFM.
