Department Spotlight: Dr. David Huffman

Dr. David Huffman practices comprehensive family medicine, including inpatients, within a family health team. He is the former chief of emergency medicine at the Chatham Kent Health Alliance and continues to practice emergency medicine. Beyond his clinical duties, Dr. Huffman has sat on the Provincial Infectious Disease Advisory Committee (PIDAC) for immunization for the last four years and was active in establishing the hospice in Chatham-Kent. He was also recognized as a Triboard award winner by the Chatham Kent Health Alliance.  

Dr. Huffman has been teaching for 12 years in office and in the ER and prides himself on fostering a collegial teaching environment with learners.

Dr. Huffman lives in Chatham with his wife Gen and their two young daughters. A self-described active dance and skating dad, he and his family spend their summers in Erieau, Ontario, a small cottage community 20 minutes south of Chatham.
