Family Medicine Grand Rounds - Indigenous Birthing Practices

Join us for Family Medicine Grand Rounds on Wednesday, April 5, to be held via Microsoft TEAMS from 8:30 to 9:30 a.m. 

Melodie Smith, Aboriginal Midwife, Southwest Ontario Aboriginal Health Access Centre, will present, "Indigenous Birthing Practices."   

Session learning objectives:

  1. Identify a culturally safe understanding of conception and gestation for my Indigenous clients, through a
    spiritual lens;
  2. Recognize the wholistic nature of Indigenous midwifery as an option for care for my pregnant clients; and
  3. Support the changing environment of Indigenous Midwifery through referral and collaboration.

 

25% interaction will be included (Q&A)

This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry,
Western University for up to 9.0 Mainpro+ credits. Each participant should claim only those hours of credit that he/she actually spent participating in the educational program.
