Faculty Development: Encouraging Exemplary Behaviour and Remediating Lapses

Join us on Wednesday, January 9, from 8:30 - 10:00 a.m., in Room 1150 of the Western Centre for Public Health and Family Medicine, as Drs. George Kim, Barbara Lent, and Wayne Weston present Encouraging Exemplary Behaviour and Remediating Lapses as part of the Department of Family Medicine's faculty development Teacher Series.

Learning Objectives:

At the conclusion of this activity, participants will be able to:

  • Describe some challenges you have experienced in helping residents to achieve the professionalism competencies of CanMEDS-FM 2017
  • Discuss the many causes of these difficulties
  • Outline systemic and on-on-one strategies to prevent and ameliorate these difficulties
  • Begin to develop a department-wide approach to teaching professionalism


This one-credit-per-hour Group Learning program meets the certification criteria of the College of Family Physicians of Canada and has been certified by Continuing Professional Development, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University for up to 1.5 Mainpro+ credits.
