Dr. Moist began her career as a pharmacist prior to completing her medical education at McMaster University. She completed her Internal Medicine and Nephrology certification as well as a Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Western Ontario. She is also a Certified Canadian Physician Executive, credentialing her significant role in healthcare leadership.

Dr. Moist is a Research Scientist and Professor of Medicine and Epidemiology and Biostatistics at the University of Western Ontario and Associate Chair, Division of Nephrology at the London Health Sciences Centre. She is clinically active in all patient settings and teaches students and residents at all levels of training including supervision of students completing a Masters in Epidemiology and Biostatistics. She has developed a significant provincial, national and international leadership role, including the Internal Medicine Physician Lead for the South West Local Health Integrated Network, Medical Lead for Dialysis Access for the Ontario Renal Network, President for the Canadian Organ Replacement Registry, Chair-International Society of Nephrology Research Initiative, and Canadian Society of Nephrology, Guideline Chair for both The Management of Anemia in Chronic Kidney Disease and Timing of Dialysis Start. She recently completed Master’s Certificates from the Schulich School of Business, York University: the OMA/CMA Schulich School of Business Physician Advanced Leadership Development Program and in Health Care Management. Dr. Moist is a Scientist in the Program of Experimental Medicine at Western University. Her clinical and research interests include vascular access in the hemodialysis patient, and progression and treatment of chronic kidney disease, with a focus on implementation science. She has received peer-reviewed research funding from CIHR, Physicians Services Incorporated, Lawson Health Research Institute and the Canadian Foundation for Innovation. Her publications include over 190 academic papers, articles and abstracts. Recent awards include the MAC Chairs Award for outstanding contribution to quality improvement and patient safety ( 2018), Uldall Visiting Professor Award (2015), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Dean’s Award of Excellence in Research (2012), Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry Dean’s Award of Excellence in Undergraduate Education ( 2011) , Department of Medicine , Senior Research Award of Excellence (2011) ,Faculty Development Fellowship Award, Department of Medicine, University of Western Ontario, USC Teaching Honor Roll Award of Excellence, University Students’ Council, University of Western Ontario. Dr. Moist is recognized for her mentorship and leadership within the academic environment.
