Regardless of who you are, the Centre for Quality, Innovation, and Safety offers educational experiences to meet your quality improvement and patient safety needs.


Are you a health care professional considering becoming a QI leader, but are worried about the time, inconvenience, or cost of obtaining comprehensive QI training? The Quality Improvement in Healthcare Certificate is our flagship program and will provide you with the most direct and personalized route to becoming a QI expert. In this program, you will work one-on-one with our CQUINS QI leaders to immediately apply concepts to a QI project of your choosing. Learn more.


Are you interested in doing your first QI project, but have little QI exposure and are feeling lost about where to get started? The Fundamentals of QI program is our online program that is the most direct path from confusion to competence. This self-study program will walk you step-by-step through the QI project process from start to finish and provide you with the tools, templates, and concrete actions required for you to successfully complete your project. Are you interested in acquiring both QI and business skills/knowledge? The Schulich-Ivey Quality in Healthcare Consultancy is our innovative program in partnership with the Ivey Business School’s Health Sector Club. In addition to having access to the content from the Fundamentals program, you will work with a group of Ivey students from the Health Sector Club on a project of your choosing. You will benefit from regularly scheduled live webinars featuring local business and QI leaders, and from group coaching from CQUINS scholars. Learn more.


Are you a division chair or program director looking to support your trainees in achieving their educational QI objectives? The Bootcamp in Sustainable Quality is our group training program that is now entering its eighth year. In this program, trainees work singly or in groups on a longitudinal QI project under the guidance of our QI scholars and the advocacy of a member of the home division or department. Learn more.


Are you a resident looking to do a QI project? The Trainee program is a modified version of our Fundamentals of QI program that includes topics important to residents such as poster presentation, publication strategies, and writing.
