All postgraduate trainees are encouraged to participate in quality improvement and safety projects. The members of the Centre for Quality, Innovation, and Safety (CQUINS) develop and deliver educational programs that provide both a didactic curriculum as well as mentorship to trainees involved in projects.

Department of Medicine residents, during years 1-3, receive an introduction to quality and safety methodology held at an academic half day run twice per year.
