    Blume-Girvin Lecture in Epilepsy

    Each fall, the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences, Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University, hosts The Blume-Girvin Lecture in Epilepsy, in recognition of the innovative efforts of its Epilepsy Program’s founders, Dr. Warren T. Blume, neurologist and epileptologist, and Dr. John P. Girvin, neurosurgeon and neurophysiologist. The Epilepsy Program at the Schulich School of Medicine and Dentistry, Western University is pleased to announce that Dr. Jorge A. González-Martínez will present the 2023 Blume-Girvin Lecture in Epilepsy.

    The Aitken Memorial Lecture Series

    The Aitken Memorial Lecture series was established in 1991 through an endowment from Drs. Ron and Elizabeth Aitken, anesthesiologists operating out of London, Ontario. It is held annualy by the Departments of Clinical Neurological Sciences and Anesthesia & Perioperative Medicine. Traditionally, the invited speaker gives a talk at both Anesthesia Grand Rounds and CNS Grand Rounds. This year, we have cordially invited Dr. Ivar Mendez, the Professor Emeritus of Neurosurgery at the University of Saskatchewan, as our visiting Professor. Dr. Mendez is a highly regarded researcher and innovator in developing remote presence devices to deliver healthcare to underserviced populations.

    2023 CNS Research Day

    On Tuesday, May 16th 2023, the Department of Clinical Neurological Sciences will host its 20th annual CNS Research Day. The full-day event features a series of poster and oral presentations from our residents, graduate students, PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows. We will also host a distinguished researcher who will present the keynote address. Attendees of the event are the Department’s faculty, including neurosurgeons, neurologists, affiliated radiologists, pathologists and imaging researchers.
