Retirement: Dr. Lee-Cyn Ang
We extend our congratulations and best wishes to Dr. Lee-Cyn Ang on his retirement from Western University, effective July 1, 2026, after 26 years of dedicated service.
Dr. Ang will be remembered for his significant contributions to virtually every dimension of academic neuropathology. He authored or co-authored more than 130 peer-reviewed publications. His work was recognized with honours including the Weil Award for the best paper in experimental neuropathology, while his excellence as an educator earned teaching awards including the Schulich Award for Excellence in Postgraduate Education and the M.E. Kirk Teaching Award for Excellence in Resident Education. His most enduring legacy will be the generations of neuropathologists and other trainees he has taught and mentored. Dr. Ang directed Western’s Neuropathology Residency Program for 12 years, chaired the Royal College Neuropathology Examination Board and served for many years on the Royal College Specialty Committee. Dr. Ang is exceptional diagnostician, scholar, educator and colleague, and his influence on our department and on Canadian neuropathology will be felt for many years. We thank him and wish him a very happy and well-deserved retirement.
