LHSC Great Moments Recognition: Dr. Ziad Solh
We are happy to share that Dr. Ziad Solh, MD MSc FRCPC DRCPSC has received recognition from the Great Moments Program at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC)!
Dr. Ziah Solh is an Associate Professor and Transfusion Medicine Specialist in the Department of Medicine, Division of Hematology, and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, Western University.
Dr. Solh is the Division Head of Transfusion Medicine at LHSC, where he focuses on blood transfusion quality and safety. He also serves as the Medical Director of the Adult Hemoglobinopathy Program and a Hematologist at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC), where he works to optimize the care of patients living with sickle cell disease and thalassemia.
He earned his MD from the University of Ottawa followed by hematology residency training at McMaster University. He then completed the Clinician Investigator Program and a Master of Science degree in Health Research Methodology at McMaster followed by a Transfusion Medicine/ Blood Banking fellowship with Canadian Blood Services. He also received the Medical Excellence Award in 2024 from the Sickle Cell Awareness Group of Ontario.
Dr. Solh’s research interests focus on knowledge translation and clinical trials in transfusion medicine, sickle cell disease, thalassemia and transition care in chromic disease.
Dr. Solh has been recognized for helping his patients feel “secure, heard, and supported in ways that truly matter”. His compassionate approach leaves a lasting impact on his patients while inspiring those who have the privilege of working alongside him. We would like to congratulate Dr. Ziad Solh on this well-deserved recognition!
