Criteria

Awarded annually to a graduating student of the Doctor of Medicine (MD) program at the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry, who, in the opinion of classmates and Faculty, has demonstrated the capacity for caring and compassion and has shown an awareness of societal issues as they relate to women in the field of medicine. Online nomination forms can be submitted to the Undergraduate Medical Education Office by March 31st. The recipient will be selected by their peers with the approval of the Progression and Awards Committee and be presented at the Convocation Ceremony. This award was established by generous contributions from the Meds Class of 1988 through Foundation Western to honor the memory of their classmate who understood the value of a balanced life and was held in high esteem by her family, friends, colleagues and patients.
