Participants in the ceremony (graduates, faculty and guest faculty) will be required to arrive at Alumni Hall, Room 15 (on the lower level) by 8:45am for gowning and to assemble into the proper formation for the Procession into the hall.
Please find below all information that you will need to make sure that you are aware of what needs to happen before and on, this important date.

Registration for participation as a member of the Academic Platform Party can be done through the Faculty Registration Form.
Student Information
Student Regalia (Gown) Orders
Students planning to participate in the Meds 2024 Convocation Ceremony on Friday June 7, 2024, must order Convocation regalia (robes and hoods). The University uses Gaspard Robe Company to provide the regalia.
To order regalia, please go to www.buildagrad.ca/western (site will open Friday, March 15th-May 17th. Late registration will be available online May 18-26.)

- Required: student identification number, height & weight, email address & credit card

Opening/Closing Dates: The site is now open and will remain so until Friday May 17, 2024 at 11:59 pm (EST).
Gown Pick Up: All gowns and hoods will be delivered to Alumni Hall (Room 15, in the lower level) and will be available for pick up at 8:00 am on June 7, 2024.
Gown Return: Regalia should be returned to the same location (Room 15, Alumni Hall) by 1:30pm.
Masking Requirements and Health Screening – At the present time, anyone visiting Western University buildings are strongly encouraged to wear medical grade masks while in crowded indoor spaces. Additionally, all those coming to campus are recommended to complete the province’s COVID-19 self-assessment tool. Should these requirements change, an update will be provided here.
Special Needs-- If you or one of your invited guests to Convocation requires special accommodation, please let our office know by Monday, June 3, 2024 so we can help to make necessary arrangements for seating, parking, staffing and wheel chairs etc.
Alumni Hall is wheelchair/stroller accessible and parking arrangements can be made in lots close to the facility if requests are made with sufficient notice.
Guests-- There is NO limit on the number of guests who can attend the MD Convocation ceremony at Alumni Hall and therefore tickets are not issued for admittance. Our small number of graduates means there is ample seating in the large Alumni Hall facility. Guests may arrive any time after 8:00 am. The ceremony begins at 9:30 am.
Livestreaming of Ceremony. Western University will be livestreaming this event for those who are unable to attend in person. The link to the live feed will be made available on the day of the ceremony from the Schulich homepage.
Parking- Parking will be available on the day of the Convocation in the South Valley Lot located off of Huron Drive, just below Alumni Hall and the Rec Centre. This is an unattended lot about a five minute walk from Alumni Hall where the ceremony will be held. Shuttles for those who may be unable to walk/climb the stairs to the upper level of campus will be available before and immediately after the ceremony. If you require assistance with parking closer to Alumni Hall because of mobility issues or for other reasons, you may contact our office and we will assist you in finding alternate parking for the ceremony. Unable to Attend your Convocation Ceremony? - If you cannot attend your Convocation ceremony, please contact the Undergraduate Medical Education Office so the ceremony organizers can update their records. In addition, you will want to make alternate arrangements to pick up/receive your diploma. For information on how to do this, please visit the Registrar’s Office web site.
Frames: If you are interested in purchasing a frame for your Diploma, you can order on-line through the Western University Bookstore website.
You can arrange to pick up the frames at the Medicine Convocation or have them shipped to another location (please be sure to confirm that this is for the June 7th Ceremony).
