Dr. Judith Belle Brown Named First Canadian Recipient of Day-Garrett Award

We are pleased to share that Dr. Judith Belle Brown, Professor and Chair of the Masters of Clinical Science and PhD Programs in Family Medicine, has been named a 2026 recipient of the prestigious Day-Garrett Award from the Smith College School for Social Work. Established in 1978, this lifetime achievement honour recognizes individuals whose careers have made an indelible mark on the profession of social work through sustained service, leadership, and impact. Dr. Brown’s selection is particularly notable as she is the first Canadian recipient. This recognition reflects her longstanding contributions to the field of social work, alongside her significant impact on graduate education and research within the Department of Family Medicine. The awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on July 30th at Smith College School, in Northampton, Massachusetts.  Please join us in congratulating Dr. Brown on this well-deserved recognition.
