Julie Strychowsky
Dr. Julie Strychowsky is a Pediatric Otolaryngologist at Children’s Hospital at London Health Sciences Centre (LHSC) and Associate Professor in the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery at Western University. She completed her medical school and residency training at McMaster University, and fellowship in Pediatric Otolaryngology at Boston Children’s Hospital. She holds a Master’s degree in Patient Safety and Healthcare Quality from Johns Hopkins University. She is a Surgeon Champion for Pediatric NSQIP (National Surgical Quality Improvement Program), Co-Chair of the Children’s Hospital – Quality and Patient Safety Council, and Director of Patient Safety and Quality Improvement for the Department of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery. She leads the OR-Planetary Health Intervention Team (OR-PHIT) at LHSC, a multidisciplinary collaboration with the goal of improving environmental sustainability in the OR. She is an award-winning teacher (2023 Clinical Teachers Award, 2025 Canadian Society of Otolaryngology-Head and Neck Surgery Mentorship Award), LHSC Medical Advisory Committee Award winner (2023), Western Sustainability Award winner (2024), and the recipient of the 2024 Green OR Award from the Ontario Surgical Quality Improvement Network. She has over 80 peer-reviewed publications. Her areas of research include quality improvement and environmental sustainability, gender equity in surgery, and clinical outcomes in pediatric otolaryngology.
