Mark Goldszmidt
Professor Goldszmidt is a clinician scientist at London Health Sciences Centre and the Schulich School of Medicine & Dentistry in London Ontario Canada. Clinically he earned his MD at McGill University, his internal medicine residency at Queen’s University and his general internal medicine fellowship at the University of Western Ontario. He also holds a Master’s of Health Professions Education degree from the University of Illinois at Chicago and a PhD from the University of Maastricht.
From the start of his academic career, he has always combined active internal medicine clinical practice with leadership, teaching and research. Currently, he is the Director for the Centre for Education Research & Innovation. As a research scientist he is most interested in the intersection between clinical practice and clinical learning, and he uses both qualitative research and quality improvement methods to understand and then enhance clinical care and clinical learning. Professor Goldszmidt has received numerous awards in recognition of his leadership including the prestigious 3M National Teaching Fellowship from the Society for Teaching and Learning in Higher Education of Canada. He currently holds over $1 million dollars in research grant funding.
